Erin describes how much self hypnosis has trasnsformed her life.
Previously her diet had dwindled to tiny amounts of boring food. Her body was wracked with pain and unable to cope with certain foods such as tomatoes, fizzy drinks, raw vegetables or fruit. She was in an anxious state and medical tests were unable to find any issue that could cause these symptoms. She had got flu in 2008 and although she got over it, her stomach had remained highly sensitive.
With medical tests including an endoscopy showing no evidence of an physical ailment she was eventually diagnosed with PTSD – Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. We already know that stress affects the digestion (think of butterflies in the stomach when you are nervous), so PTSD had a major impact on her digestive system making it hyper-sensitive to certain foods.
Erin was told that two classic signs of PTSD are digestive problems and headaches and she was experiencing both of these.
It was suggested to her that self hypnosis could help. Erin had her own thoughts and barriers to learning self hypnosis but decided she was prepared to do anything to get better.
She now practises self hypnosis for 20 minutes day. She is able to eat an apple without any problems from her stomach and her body is not wracked with tension 24/7. She still has further improvements to enjoy but is well on her way and enjoying her self hypnosis everyday.
